Quick Guide
Agriwelt Pro seed sensors
One sensor per row. One cable along the machine. Every row on your screen.

1What the sensor does
Each sensor sits on one seed tube or one row unit. Inside it, an infrared light barrier crosses the seed path. Every seed that falls through breaks the beam — the sensor counts it and reports its row to the monitor in the cab.
On the monitor every sensor is one column. The number under the column is the row number.

What a row can tell you
| On the screen | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Under allowable rate | The row sows too little |
| Over allowable rate | The row sows too much |
| High % of skips / High % of doubles | Precision planters: gaps, or two seeds at once |
| Clogged | Dirt or dust in the sensor's light path |
| Light struck | Direct sunlight in the sensor |
| Connection lost | The monitor does not hear this sensor |
A row can show more than one of these at a time. Wording of Hectare One; Mini and 5 are alike.
2How the sensors are connected
One cable, sensor to sensor. Each sensor has two connectors — in and out. The sensors plug into each other one after another, without adapters. The first one plugs into the monitor.
The end of the line gets the terminator. It is in the kit. Its clamp goes onto bare metal of the frame with a stainless steel bolt — clean off paint and rust first. This clamp is the only earth of the whole sensor network: a poor contact here is the most common reason for rows dropping out now and then.
Big machines — a simple figure-eight. From 40 sensors on one cable, the cable comes to a splitter in the middle of the machine, goes round the left half and comes back, goes round the right half and comes back. Two loops, one point. The terminator sits on the splitter. Each sensor gets power from both ends of its loop, and one damaged cable does not switch the row off. The kit comes with its layout drawn for your machine.
The speed sensor has its own socket on the monitor. It is not part of the sensor line.
3If a row is missing
| You see | Most likely | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| One row: Connection lost | Damaged cable or a wet, corroded plug | Check that cable and its plugs. Still lost — connect this sensor alone and give it its number again (section 4). |
| All rows: Connection lost | Main cable, power, or a short in a plug | Check the cable from the monitor and the power. Look for a crushed cable or water in a plug. |
| Rows drop out now and then | Terminator missing or poorly earthed | Is the terminator on? Clamp on bare metal, bolt tight? |
| Light struck | Direct sunlight in the sensor | Shade it — on the machine this goes away once the sensor sits on its row. |
4Row numbers — and replacing a sensor
On a new kit the numbers are already set. You only set one yourself when you replace a sensor: the new one takes the row number of the old one.
- Connect the new sensor alone. Unplug the sensor line from the monitor and plug in only the new sensor. All other sensors stay unplugged. The monitor can stay on.
- Hold any sensor column on the home screen — any one will do, it need not be the replaced row. Its menu opens — choose Change address. Only while standing still.
- PIN. If the monitor is not at Agronomist level, it asks for the PIN — it is in the data sheet of your system.
- New address = the row number. Leave Sensor address at AUTO. Choose Set — the monitor answers Done.
- Unplug the sensor and plug it back in. It takes its new number when it powers up again.
- Plug the whole line back in. The row is in its place.

Good to know
- One sensor on the cable. With two connected, either of them may take the number.
- Do not press MENU on Sensor address — it starts a search of the line.
- An open sensor (row unit type) must not have sunlight in its slot while you set the number. Tube sensors can be numbered straight away.
- The short path is on Hectare One and Hectare 5. On Hectare Mini the same menu is under Service → Sensors Configuration → Seed sensor — see its manual.
